When should a mini resume be used?
A mini resume contains a brief summary of your key accomplishments and professional qualifications. It highlights your achievements instead of providing a lengthy resume that includes full details about your work experience, education, and accomplishments.
Mini Resume Template
Contact Information: The first part of your mini resume should include information on how to get in touch with you. This information can be printed on the front of a standard-sized business card, with your professional achievements highlighted on the back. A professional printer can produce a slightly larger card if you have more information that can’t fit on a standard business card – but remember, your goal is brevity.

Tips for Writing a Mini Resume
Be concise. This is your accomplishment showcase, so don’t be lengthy. About 50 words is the right length for the objective.
Keep it simple. Remember to keep the background of the mini resume simple – black text on a white or cream background is best. Since you want the text to stand out on the page, avoid distracting colors, logos/initials, fancy fonts, or borders.
Choose readable fonts. Standard fonts are best – Times New Roman, Courier New, or Verdana. And make sure to select a font size that won’t make readers squint. You don’t want the hiring manager to have to search for their glasses to be able to see that you’re a worthy candidate for the interview.
Be consistent. End one point with a period? End them all the same way. Make sure not to switch tenses or move from complete sentences to fragments in similar sections. These small details can make a big difference. Consistency suggests professionalism. The contact may not know why your mini resume seems off, but they will notice the wrong impression, and that’s the last thing you need.
Review and edit the mini resume carefully. How many mistakes can someone make in 50 words? It might be surprising. Before distributing the mini resume, ensure it’s flawless.
Check the spelling of proper names, particularly brand names.
It can be easy to make mistakes with software packages, as they often involve random capitalization in the middle of a word and other stylistic choices you might not expect, such as Microsoft PowerPoint. Getting these details right will indicate to potential employers that you are a detail-oriented person. Have a friend with a keen eye take a look before you finalize your mini resume.
