Resignation Letter Templates for Pregnant Women

Your decision to resign from work can be for various reasons, some of which may be positive and exciting, such as pregnancy. The resignation letter informing your employer of your pregnancy and your intention not to return does not necessarily need to include your reasons.

Decide how much notice you want to give

It is customary to give a two-week notice when resigning from a job. However, depending on the circumstances, you may want to provide a longer notice period or leave the job sooner. It is advisable to discuss the available options with your manager or the human resources department to ensure a smooth transition.

How to mention your resignation

Regardless of your intentions regarding returning to work, you should inform your colleagues of your decision as soon as it is made. When notifying your supervisor of your intention to resign, keep the conversation positive and upbeat. Since you will be leaving on your own terms, you may be tempted to be more candid than is appropriate about the work environment.

Always try to maintain and enhance your relationships with your contacts. Offer to help in any way you can before your last day, and let your colleagues know you will be available if they need references or recommendations in the future.

Dear Mr./Ms. Recipient,

I would like to inform you that I will be leaving my position here at Johnson Dental due to my pregnancy.

Although this will be a new and exciting chapter in my life, I am very sad to be leaving my beloved job here.

According to my contract, I am giving you my two weeks’ notice, and my last day here will be August 21, 2020. I will complete my remaining duties on that day and will be happy to assist in the hiring and training process for my replacement. Currently, my plan is to take a few years to care for my child, but I look forward to discussing a return to Johnson Company in the future.

Thank you for your continued support during my time here and in this new development in my life. I will keep you updated throughout my pregnancy and hope to see you at the baby shower!

Sincerely,

Subject: Resignation – First Name Last Name

Dear Mr./Ms. Recipient,

Please accept this letter as my formal notice of resignation. My last day at work will be August 21, 2020. I have decided to stay home with my baby after her birth for an indefinite period and feel it is best for you to hire someone to take over my responsibilities permanently.

I have enjoyed working at XYZ Enterprises for the past four years and will miss the collaboration our department has. I have learned so much from you in particular, and I appreciate the opportunities you have given me.

If you need any assistance during this transitional period, please let me know. I have some contacts that I believe would be a good fit here if you’d like my advice in finding someone to fill my position.

I wish you all the best in the future and hope we have the opportunity to work together again when I am ready to return to the corporate world.

Best wishes,

Sender’s Name
