Finding the National Winner of the Google Doodle Contest
The search for the national winner of the Google Doodle contest is an exciting and highly anticipated journey, providing an opportunity to encourage imagination and creativity among young talents across the country. The year 2022 was no exception. We received over 115,000 submissions on the topic “In the next 25 years, India will be my country” from more than 100 cities, and over 5.5 lakh votes helped us choose the winners among 20 competitors.
The national winner for 2022 is Shlok Mukherjee, a 9-year-old student in the fourth grade at Delhi Public School – Newtown, Kolkata. We are thrilled that as part of our celebrations for Children’s Day, Shlok’s doodle titled “India on the Main Stage” will proudly feature on the Google homepage in India for 24 hours.
Description of the Winning Doodle
Shlok combined elements of contemporary global India in his doodle with his hopes for the nation’s contributions to the future of humanity. Shlok’s doodle amazed us and our judges. Describing his work, Shlok said: “In the next 25 years, India will have scientists developing their own eco-friendly robots to improve human life. India will have regular intergalactic travel from Earth to space. India will advance further in the field of Ayurveda and will become a leader occupying the main stage in the future.” His doodle is also the winner in the third and fourth-grade category.
Shlok will also receive a college scholarship worth 500,000 rupees, a technology package worth 200,000 rupees for his school, a certificate or trophy of achievement, a Google device or related products (subject to availability), and fun Google memorabilia.
Congratulations and Thank You
We congratulate Shlok and thank all the participants who submitted artwork showcasing creativity, vision, and new ideas! We are grateful to our judges who discussed numerous entries, and of course, to everyone who voted for their favorite works. Keep drawing.
