Shopify Plus and Updates

Automation is one of the tools that can help you manage your daily business needs easily and with minimal effort, allowing you to focus on bigger matters.

What is Shopify Flow?

Shopify Flow aims to help merchants automate repetitive tasks and get more out of their existing applications through connections that weren’t possible before – without needing to know how to code.

Since its launch, merchants have increasingly relied on the power of automation to help their businesses run better.

So how does it work? By using a three-step visual builder, Flow allows you to set repetitive and intensive tasks to automatic mode, without having to touch a single line of code.

You can use ready-made templates or quickly create custom workflows that solve your unique business operations.

And since Flow integrates with your existing apps and solutions – allowing you to connect them together – you gain more value and power, letting you create and implement anything you want. You can access Flow directly from the back end of your Shopify management.

What are Shopify Flow connectors?

Flow connectors allow you to use specific applications to create triggers based on information from the app or create an action that uses an app. When using a trigger, the app sends data to Flow. When using an action, Flow sends information to the app.

Thanks to the connector function, you can create workflows using triggers and actions from Shopify Flow from apps. To use an app in the workflow, you need to have an app with a built-in connector.

The simplicity of Flow matches its power: the possibilities are fully customizable and practically limitless. But we also wanted to make it easier for merchants to implement automation in their business operations.

Examples of Shopify Flow workflows to use now

Track and Reward Your Best Customers

Before developing these relationships with customers, you need an idea of who your most active customers are in your store and what they are doing there. If you’re confused about where to start, look at the most active customers right now and reach out to them.

With this workflow, you can easily implement loyalty and customer retention initiatives by segmenting customers using customer tags based on their lifetime spending. In the same workflow, you can notify the customer service team when customers cross spending thresholds so your team can add loyalty points to their accounts.

Review High-Risk Orders Before Capturing Payment

Dealing with high-risk orders can be confusing. They often require some level of manual order classification and verification, contacting facilities, and paying for product costs and refund fees. Shelfies, a custom clothing company, dealt with exactly this problem.

With Shopify Flow, you can set up a workflow that automatically analyzes the new order. If the order risk is medium or low, Shopify Plus will automatically capture the payment. To properly implement this workflow, you must have manual payment capture set up for your store.

You can customize this workflow to fit your needs. For example, you can ensure that high-risk orders trigger an action that sends a notification via email or Slack to your customer service team to review the high-risk orders before capturing payment.

Hide and Republish Products Based on Inventory Levels

Out of stock situations happen. Most visitors are perfectly fine with that. The problem arises when the merchant does not communicate that the product is out of stock.

When

A specific product runs out of stock, this workflow hides the product from your online store.

When the item returns to stock, the product will be republished to the online store, and the marketing team will be notified to reactivate the ads.

Track Preorder Processes and Launch Marketing Campaigns

Preorders have not been as effective for brands as they are today. Merchants around the world are leveraging these processes to build excitement for upcoming product releases and to get a better estimate of overall demand.

With this workflow, any item tagged as a preorder is automatically tracked in a spreadsheet, and all preorder information is sent to your preferred email marketing app. This way, you can launch a marketing campaign for all preorder customers and ensure they remain excited about their purchase.

Automate Your Product Review Process

Recent online review statistics indicate that half of shoppers say they trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.

Since reviews can significantly impact conversion, it is vital to have a robust review program in place.

With Shopify Flow, you can fully automate your review program and ensure that you never miss the chance to correct a negative review.

When a new product review is created, Flow will check the star rating and then determine the appropriate actions. For example, five-star reviews will be tracked in a spreadsheet and shared with sales and marketing so they are aware of the positive things customers are saying about the product.

On the other hand, any one-star or two-star reviews are tracked in a spreadsheet.
