What is the fastest green card if we are from India or China?
Hello, Innovator!
Congratulations on all your achievements! These are notable accomplishments – you and your co-founders can leverage them when applying for visas and green cards to live and work in the United States!
Before I respond to your question, remember that as founders of a startup, waiting for a green card is usually very slow to reach the United States. Look for a way to get to the U.S. sooner, such as through an O-1A visa or an H-1B visa with the lottery (many H-1B lottery updates will be released soon – join my educational webinar this week).
Getting support from investors
It is very important to ensure you get what you need from investors to keep succeeding, including support regarding visas and residency cards such as education, resources, and signing recommendation letters. This is what Kristen Ostrow and Nicole Fuller from a venture capital consulting firm confirmed during our conversation on my podcast. Many founders value working with investment bank heads in the U.S. who understand their field, are experts in the specific industry, and have the relationships and customer networks to make recommendations for people who will be active participants in the founders’ success, rather than just providing capital.
Working with an immigration lawyer
Many investment bank heads also provide support services, including recommending an immigration lawyer who can assist you with visas and residency cards. If potential investors in your startup do not offer this, I advise you and your co-founders to work with an immigration lawyer who can strategize for each of you based on your achievements and timing and can guide you through the immigration process.
Country of Birth
Regarding obtaining a green card, the time it takes to obtain one depends on several factors, including country of birth. In your case of being from India or China, there may be delays in obtaining a green card due to high demand from these two countries. However, the immigration lawyer you work with can help you strategize to expedite the green card process.
