From what food do you come and live?

Yesterday, I was doing my own thing and scrolling through Instagram when I saw this question: “Use food to tell us where you’re from?”

My Personal Experience

What would your answer be? I was born into chocolate bread colors, but I started elementary school with shrimp cocktail chips, then moved on to Detroit-style pizza for the rest of my school and college years (though we still spend every summer with family enjoying fish and chips). When I turned 22, I transitioned to bagels and smoked fish, where I’ve lived ever since.

I love this game!

Comment 1: I lived the latter half of my life in green onion cake!

Comment 2: I was born in Taylor ham and eggs and cheese, but in my early twenties, I moved to pork roll and cheese and have lived here ever since. I haven’t eaten either!

Comment 3: I was born into barbecue and stayed in barbecue. Barbecue forever.

Comment 4: Ha! I was born into cream pie, grew up on salmon, went to college near cheese steak, lived briefly in “Pa Am Tomakit” (is that cheating? “Tomato bread” in English doesn’t quite work) for a study abroad year, then moved to street corn after graduation and back to salmon. I was unexpectedly transferred to salt meat five years ago where I expect to stay forever.

Comment 5: I was born into spicy spaghetti and now live in dry barbecue.

Comment 6: I was born and raised in cream (Vermont), went to snow water (Philadelphia) with a study year in tortilla española (Spain), then eggs and cheese on a roll (New York), then deep-dish pizza (Chicago), then old bay on crab (Baltimore), then back to snow water, and now breakfast tacos with green sauce (San Antonio).

Comment 7: Cheese steak, hoagies, soft pretzels.

Comment 8: I was born into Gouda cheese (Holland), then lived in koshari (Cairo, Egypt) and chocolate bread (Paris), before moving to pancakes and chocolate (Antwerp and then Brussels in Belgium).

Comment 9: I was born into apples and pears and grapes, and now I live in smoked salmon and blackberries by the roadside ?

Comment 10: I was born in poutine then moved on to steak and roast meat, stopped at shrimp and crab for high school and college, studied a master’s degree in mixed plates. Went back to poutine then to pierogi and grits and now I live in tacos and burritos. This game is so much fun!

Comment 11: Cheese steak for all time.

Comment 12: I was born in vada pav, then moved on to bagels for ten years. Now I live in… farm to table? Avocado? (West Bay Area)

This game is so much fun!
