The “Tulsa Remote” program in Oklahoma offers a grant of $10,000 for remote workers to use for purchasing or renting a home in Tulsa. The program also provides a $500 reimbursement for travel costs and a $150 Airbnb credit for applicants to explore the area.
The “Choose Topeka” Program in Kansas
The city of Topeka, Kansas has partnered with employers to offer cash incentives for those who want to relocate to the city. Participants in the program, known as “Choose Topeka,” can receive up to $15,000 if they purchase a home in Topeka and obtain a job in the area. Jimmy John’s is offering an additional $1,000 to anyone who moves to their delivery area.

Savannah, Georgia launched a program called “Texas Technology” during the COVID-19 pandemic to attract remote workers to the area. The program provides movers with a $2,000 grant to cover relocation costs to Savannah and settling in. The program also includes a year of free internet trial, trial periods in local coworking spaces, membership in a local cultural institution, and opportunities for networking with others.
The “Welcome Home Vermont” Program in Vermont
Vermont is seeking to combat workforce shortages by offering a grant for out-of-state movers to relocate there. The program provides $7,500 for movers to live in Vermont and search for a local job in a field considered to be among the most in-demand by the state’s Department of Labor. Jobs on the list include positions in restaurant and construction fields. Additionally, Vermont also offers a grant for remote workers employed in the state by an out-of-state employer. This program is implemented for those relocating after February 1, 2022.
The “Choose Tucson” Program in Tucson, Arizona
The University of Arizona is located in Tucson, the second-largest city in the state. A local economic development organization launched the “Tucson Remote” program during the pandemic to attract remote workers to the area. The program offers movers $1,500 to cover relocation costs, one year of free internet, trial periods in local coworking spaces, membership in a local cultural institution, and opportunities for networking with others. Applicants over 18 years old must be full-time remote employees and be able to move to Tucson within six months.
