Julia and Alan
When authors Julia Bainbridge and chef Alan Delgado – known for their double proposal – decided to get married at City Hall, Julia told us, “It’s very classic New York.” She added, “I felt at ease when I was in the room with a diverse group of people all here for the same reason. Some were in jeans, and some were in big dresses.” Here, Julia and Alan – along with three other couples – share their wedding photos…
Julia and Alan
Julia spoke about the wedding day saying, “I had just finished my PhD in therapeutic psychology, and amusingly, we got married on my last day of classes. So, I had to go to Harlem to give a final presentation at 9 a.m.! Then I came back and we got ready in our apartment in Brooklyn. We met our photographer Liz and my friend Patrick, who was our witness, to have the party. After that, we went to the Marlton Hotel, where we would spend the night, for a drink before celebrating with a wonderful meal at Oiji Mi restaurant.”
Kristin and Twayji
After Twayji and Kristin’s City Hall ceremony, they wanted to treat Kristin’s parents to dinner. Twayji said, “We went fully New York style and ate from a food truck.”
Liz and Dax
Liz and Dax were married at City Hall on the first anniversary of their engagement. Dax had proposed while they were sitting in a park eating ice cream. Dax said, “I remembered then, this park is going to be here for a long time. It’s a place we can return to.”
Gabriella and Rafael
Gabriella and Rafael hoped for a simple and sweet wedding. Gabriella said, “We wanted to do something special just for us, me and him.” So, the couple had pizza and drank champagne while getting ready at home. After the City Hall ceremony, they celebrated with donuts.
Congratulations to the happy couples! Have you married or are you planning to marry at City Hall?
