Saudi Arabia and Russia Emphasize the Necessity of OPEC+ Commitment to the Agreement

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed during their meeting in Riyadh the necessity for OPEC+ members to adhere to the group’s agreement, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The leaders welcomed the close cooperation between their countries and the successful efforts of OPEC+ in providing stability in global oil markets. They emphasized the importance of continuing this cooperation and the necessity for all member states to commit to OPEC+ agreements in a manner that serves the interests of producers and consumers and supports global economic growth. OPEC+ consists of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, Russia, and other allies.

Joint Cooperation and Investments

The leaders expressed their desire to enhance mutual and joint investments in their countries. They welcomed the increase in bilateral trade by 46 percent in 2022 compared to 2021, and affirmed their intention to continue working together to enhance and diversify
