The rescue operation to extract the 41 trapped workers from the under-construction Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand reached its final stages on Tuesday (November 28). The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), present at the site, made adequate arrangements to ensure the safety of the workers during their extraction.
Details of the Trapped Workers
With the rescue operation expected to continue for an additional three to four hours, officials shared details about the workers who had been trapped inside the tunnel for 17 days in the Uttarkashi region. They are:

Evacuation Procedures After the Operation
Upon reaching the trapped workers, they will be transported on a wheeled stretcher and carefully pulled out of the tunnel by rescue teams using ropes. This is expected to take approximately two to three hours, according to the procedures being followed.
According to ANI news agency, citing officials, the workers will be taken to a temporary medical facility set up inside the tunnel for a health check-up after being rescued from under the debris.
Eight beds have been prepared by the health department, and a team of doctors and specialists has also been deployed.
Additionally, a small unit with 41 oxygen-supported beds has been set up at a community health center in Chenialisor, located about 30 kilometers from Silkyara.
