The world’s first microwave bag delivers hot meals in minutes, no matter where you find yourself.
Bag Design
The Willtex Willcook bag is designed like a laptop bag, worn over the shoulder to heat food on the go. With an external battery attached, its creators claim it retains a charge to keep lunch warm for up to eight hours.
Heating Technology
The bag uses specialized fiber material that can reach temperatures of up to 482 degrees Fahrenheit in just five minutes, according to the developers. And although the bag calls itself a “microwave bag,” it actually does not use a microwave to heat food. Instead, the bag uses advanced fiber material developed by Sanky Consys’ Japanese fiber technology.
Temperature Control
Willtex says the temperature of the material can be controlled anywhere between 104 degrees Fahrenheit and 482 degrees Fahrenheit – hot enough to cook pizza. However, it does not mention whether the microwave bag will be limited to a lower and safer temperature.
Other Uses
Willtex also states that the insulation of the bag makes it capable of keeping beer and other cold drinks cool for longer even in the hot sun. The bag is available in three different colors for 23,000 yen (£126.05), while the battery is sold separately for 6,500 yen (£35.62).
The bag is now available for order on the Willtex website, but delivery options are only available in Japan at the time of writing. Willtex says the bag will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024.
