The Mission for Climate Agricultural Innovation was launched in 2021 at COP26 in Glasgow, funded by governments, corporations, and non-governmental organizations.
Global Agriculture’s Contribution to Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Food and agriculture contribute approximately one-third of human greenhouse gas emissions globally, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Enhancing Regenerative Agriculture
In one of the largest projects, companies like Bunge and Alphabet’s Google are working with Nature Conservancy and the Brazilian state of Pará to expand regenerative agriculture, which generally refers to practices such as reducing tillage on farmland and using fewer pesticides.
Agricultural Methane Commitments
Advocacy groups want the countries and companies participating in the summit to commit to addressing agricultural methane emissions in particular, which primarily come from livestock production.
