Gestura designs kitchen tools that won’t end up in the junk drawer. The founder of the company relies on Dropbox Dash to stay organized.
Passion from the Kitchen
Rudolph’s passion for food sparked in college. The young original from Los Angeles spent late nights in his bedroom watching old episodes of the PBS show Great Chefs of the World. By watching chefs prepare dishes like orange chocolate cake and roasted rabbit, he became obsessed with the field.
Transitioning to Design
Under the guidance of his advisor, Rudolph enrolled in the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles in 2019. There, the idea of Gestura began to take root, as his project combined his training as a chef, his passion for high-quality cooking tools, and his education in design.
More than Just Creativity
Gestura and Rudolph have come a long way since those early days when he had “no idea” what he was doing. Although he works as the sole employee at the company, he is constantly collaborating with his assistants, which creates a lot of digital clutter in the form of files, email threads, and more.
Rudolph uses Dash to track all his files across those various processes and conversations.
Before Dash, Rudolph recalls spending a lot of time searching for files. The technical drawings didn’t have very descriptive names, so he spent “a lot of time” looking for files to send to collaborators.
“It’s an assistant that has your back and is more organized than you,” says Rudolph.
In addition to Dropbox Dash, Rudolph uses a simple set of digital tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Miro – an online whiteboard he uses to collaboratively design prototypes. Files from Adobe and Miro are shared on Dropbox so he can stay up to date with the designers.
Thanks to smart technology tools like Dash that streamline Gestura’s processes, Rudolph has more time and energy to do what he has always wanted – to follow his passion wherever it leads him.
