A former Apple employee reveals the best ways to save iPhone battery and the mistakes most users make.

Many iPhone owners know the feeling of fear when they see the “Low Battery” notification appear on the screen.

Do not charge the iPhone to 100% and disable Bluetooth and background activity

Tyler Morgan, who has worked in Apple sales, says users should not charge their iPhone to 100% and should disable Bluetooth and background activity – many adjustments that users overlook.

Morgan notes that these tricks will negatively affect your phone experience, but they will save battery life.

Do not charge the iPhone to 100% or overnight

Morgan recommends not allowing the battery to reach 100% consistently, as batteries chemically degrade when frequently charged to 100%.

Ritesh Chugh, an associate professor of information and communications technology at CQUniversity in Australia, agrees with Morgan’s suggestion in a report released in October.

Reduce phone brightness and turn off Siri and Bluetooth services

Morgan also recommends reducing phone brightness and turning off Siri and Bluetooth services if they are not currently in use.

Users should turn off Bluetooth in the settings to disable its functionality.

Turn off background activity and disable location tracking services

Morgan also urges iPhone owners to turn off background activity for apps and disable location tracking services when not in use.

Users can turn off app permissions to track them. All apps can be prevented from requesting tracking permission by turning off “Allow apps to request tracking”.

In the end, Morgan acknowledges that following these tips may adversely affect your phone experience, but they will successfully reduce battery usage.
