We at Nature are saddened to hear the sudden passing of our former colleague Mohamed Yahia at the age of 41. Mohamed joined what would become the Nature Group in 2010 and was the launch editor and later the executive editor of Nature Middle East. In addition to leading the launch of the Arabic editions of Nature and Scientific American, he played a pivotal role in establishing Nature Africa and Nature Italy. He left to take up a new position as editor-in-chief of Chemical and Engineering News this month. He will be remembered as a passionate and dedicated journalist and as an inspiring and creative mentor and leader. Our thoughts are with his wife and young family.
