Scientists are divided on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s proposal to update COVID-19 vaccines once a year, akin to the agency’s approach to flu vaccines. At a meeting of the FDA’s Vaccines Advisory Committee on January 26, some researchers argued that the plan could simplify the country’s complicated COVID-19 vaccination schedule and could increase vaccine uptake as a result.
