Scientists worldwide fear that research tracking how climate change affects Antarctica may be disrupted after reports of the cancellation, postponement, or scaling back of several research projects conducted by the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) this summer due to an anticipated budget cut of AUD 25 million (USD 16.2 million). This cut comes after a significant and unexpected decline in Antarctic sea ice was announced.
