Tucker Carlson announced a paid streaming service on Saturday that will feature new content from the former Fox News host, following reports that Carlson is forming a new media company after relaunching his show on X.
Main Information
The Tucker Carlson Network offers a monthly streaming service for $9 or an annual subscription for $72, with some ad-supported content available without a subscription.
The service provides three shows with new episodes each week, including “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” which will be available without a subscription, and “Tucker Carlson Uncensored” and “Ask Tucker,” a segment where Tucker answers subscribers’ questions.
Other shows include “Tucker Carlson Shorts” with new episodes every two weeks and “Tucker Carlson Interviews,” featuring Carlson’s interviews released each month, while another program includes behind-the-scenes content from Carlson’s interviews and his recent tour “The Divided Enemy Tour.”
The Tucker Carlson Network will also release feature films and full documentaries through “Tucker Carlson Movies.”
Carlson’s company explores distributing the service through over-the-top TV apps and via X, where the Tucker Carlson Network collaborates on advertising, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Carlson will continue to post free content on X and will launch the “Tucker Carlson Podcast,” which will feature audio from that content, according to the newspaper’s report.
What to Watch For
Details about the service are expected to be announced by Carlson during an interview with Megyn Kelly on Monday, according to the newspaper.
Main Background
Reports indicated that Carlson and former White House advisor Neil Patel were “seeking to raise funds” for a new media company in July, three months after Carlson was abruptly ousted from Fox News. Carlson and Patel—who previously launched the new right-leaning news site “The Daily Caller”—had “put themselves in a financial, legal, and strategic media position” for the project, according to the newspaper’s report. Carlson began airing episodes of a new show on X in early June, featuring interviews between Carlson and right-wing media figures and conservative politicians, including Alex Jones, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Georgia), and former President Donald Trump. Fox News sent a cease-and-desist letter to Carlson shortly after the show’s initial launch, according to Axios, arguing that Carlson was violating his contract.
Interesting Fact
The state-run network Russia 24 offered a program hosted by Carlson earlier this year, although Carlson denied agreeing to host a show on Russian television. The dubbed “Tucker” show appeared in an advertisement saying “on weekends,” which seemingly indicated the program would air on weekends, although no further details were provided. Russia One, the state channel, reached out to Carlson in a separate message, urging him to “join them.”
